Police briefs - Friday, November 23, 2018

Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police is investigating a theft at Rondeau Provincial Park.

Police said a green and yellow John Deere 2014 6x4 Gator and a green 2003 Honda TE2 Quad were reported stolen from a maintenance building on November 15.

Video surveillance shows four youths walking around the park around 1:30 a.m., but no one is seen leaving with the equipment.

A 54-year-old Tilbury man has been charged with being intoxicated in public.

Chatham-Kent police said officers were called to a parking lot on Talbot Road in Wheatley, Thursday afternoon.

He was taken into custody and released once sober.

Chatham-Kent police are investigating after two firearms and ammunition were taken during a break-in in Chatham.

Police said someone broke into a home on Cedar Hedge Line on Thursday, causing about $1,000 in damages.

In addition to a Remington 870 12-gauge shotgun and a Remington 243 rifle, the thief took a pickup truck, cash, jewelry, an HP laptop, a PS4 gaming system, and an iPad.

Officers found the pickup truck abandoned near the home.
