Remembrance Day 2018 Ceremonies in CK

Chatham-Kent residents will once again mark Remembrance Day with several services and parades across the municipality this weekend.

Blenheim

Sunday, November 11, 2018

A parade will start just after 10 a.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 185 at 34 Catherine Street and proceed north on George Street to St. Mary's Hall for a service before returning to Legion Br. 185 on the same route for a wreath laying ceremony.

Bothwell

Sunday, November 11, 2018

A parade will form up at around 10:30 a.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 252 on George Street and head south on George St., then west on Main Street to the Cenotaph for a service.

After the service, the parade will proceed east on Main St., north on George St. and conclude at the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 252 on George St.

Chatham

There will be two services at Chatham-Kent Secondary School. The first will start at 9 a.m. and the second will start at 12 p.m.

There will be two services in Chatham on Remembrance Day.

There will be a parade starting at Royal Canadian Legion Br. 642 just after 10 a.m. at 39 William Street North and proceeding south on William Street and west on King Street West to the Cenotaph on Sixth Street for a service. After the service, the parade will proceed back to Legion Br. 642 along the same route.

There will also be a parade and service at the John D. Bradley Convention Centre on Richmond Street starting at 9 a.m. A parade will form up and then march off at 9:45 a.m. with a service to follow.

Dresden

There will be a parade and a ceremony starting at 10:45 a.m. with the parade marching from the Dresden Legion Br. 113 to the Cenotaph on Queen Street. A ceremony will follow at 11 a.m. before the parade forms up again and heads back to the Legion.

Erieau

Sunday, November 11, 2017 from 1:45 p.m. to 2:45 p.m.

The ceremony will start with a parade gathering at Molly and OJ's Restaurant, heading east on Mariners Road, then north on Nichols Avenue to the Veterans Memorial Garden.

After the wreath laying ceremony, the parade will head west on Ross Lane.

Highgate

There will be a parade starting at Legion Br. 465 at around 10:15 a.m. at 2 Stanley Street, then heading west on Stanley St. and north on Erie Street to the Cenotaph at Kinsmen Park for a wreath service.

The parade will then go south on Erie St. and east on Aberdeen Street to the Community Hall at 150 Aberdeen St. for service.

After that service, the parade will proceed west on Aberdeen St., south on Erie St. and east on Stanley St. to Legion Br. 465.

Ridgetown

There will be a parade starting at the Legion Br. 243 on Broadway Street at around 9:30 a.m. and proceeding south on Broadway Street, west on Ebenezer Street, north on Church Street to Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church for a service.

After the service, the parade will be reassembling and proceeding east on Main Street to Cenotaph for a Remembrance Day service there, then proceeding east on Main St. and south on Broadway St. and dispersing at Legion Br. 243.

Thamesville

There will be a Remembrance Day service with a parade beginning at 10:30 a.m. at the Thamesville Legion Br. 367.

The route will start at the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 367 on Victoria Street and head south on Victoria St. to the cenotaph on London Road for the ceremony.

After the ceremony, parade will form up on London Rd. and proceed west on London Rd. to Anglican Church for a service.

After the service, the parade will reform on London Rd. and proceed north on Alice Street, West on Sherman Street and conclude at the southeast corner of Sherman St. and Victoria St.

Tilbury

Sunday, November 11, 2017

There will be a Remembrance Day service starting at approximately 10:30 a.m. at the cenotaph in Tilbury.

The parade route will start at Royal Canadian Legion Br. 206 at 4 Stewart Avenue and proceed west on Stewart Ave., then north on Queen Street to the Cenotaph at Canal Street East for a service.

After the service the parade will proceed back to Royal Canadian Legion Br. 206 along the same route.

Wallaceburg

There will be a parade starting at W.D.S.S. on Lorne Avenue. It will leave the high school at 10:30 a.m. and head south to Elgin Street, then east to Lisgar Street, then south to the cenotaph at the corner of Dufferin Avenue and Lisgar St. for a service.

Wheatley

There will be a parade starting at around 10:30 a.m. at the Legion Br. 324, heading along Erie Street North, then to Erie St. South and west on Talbot Road with a service at the cenotaph. The service will start at 11 a.m., after which the parade will return to the Legion.
