Pickup truck reported stolen

Chatham-Kent police are trying to track down a 1990 two-toned blue GMC Sierra pickup truck that was reported stolen earlier this week.

Officers said it was taken from a residence on Scane Road sometime between 3 p.m. on Sunday and 5 p.m. on Monday.

Meat, liquor stolen from garage

Police are working to track down a suspect after an early morning break-in earlier this week in Chatham.

Officers said someone broke into a garage on Opal Court sometime between 12:30 a.m. and 4 a.m. Tuesday and took off with some meat and some liquor.

Alleged shoplifter arrested at Walmart

A 31-year-old Chatham man is charged with theft and possession of stolen property in connection with a shoplifting complaint at the Walmart in Chatham.

Police said they got the call Tuesday night and arrested a suspect.

He was later released with conditions and a future court date.

Teen charged after using cell phone

A 16-year-old Chatham boy is in trouble with the law again after allegedly using a cell phone, which was a violation of his release conditions.

Officers said the boy used the phone to send some Facebook messages to a family member a couple of weeks ago even though he had been ordered not to possess any devices that had the ability to access the internet.

The teen that police arrested was taken into custody pending a bail hearing.

Man arrested for domestic assault

A 28-year-old man is charged with break-and-enter and assault in connection with a domestic disturbance in Chatham.

Officers said the man was arrested after police got a call earlier this week about a domestic assault.

The accused was released with conditions and a future court date.
