Man breaks into girlfriend's house through window

Chatham-Kent police have arrested a 28-year-old man after he allegedly broke into his girlfriend's home and assaulted her.

Police said the man showed up at his girlfriend's house Saturday night and when she refused to let him in, he allegedly broke in by crawling through a window.

Officers said the pair got into an argument before the man allegedly assaulted the woman and took off in her truck before police showed up.

The accused was arrested in Chatham Wednesday afternoon and charged with a handful of offences including assault. He was being held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Man arrested after alleged domestic assault

Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man who is accused of assaulting his fiancée during an argument.

Police said they learned about the incident Wednesday night while they were checking in on the woman.

A 53-year-old Chatham man is now charged with assault and was taken into custody pending a bail hearing.

Laptop, cash, and ID stolen during break-in

Police are trying to track down some valuables that were stolen during a break-in at a home on Park Lane in Chatham.

Officers said sometime late Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning, someone forced their way into the home and stole a silver MacBook Air laptop, some cash, and some personal identification.
