Community job fair in Chatham

Looking for a job? You're in luck!

The CK Works! Community Job Fair is taking place Tuesday afternoon from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the John D. Bradley Centre in Chatham.

The Chatham-Kent Workforce Planning Board said over 600 people pre-registered for the event.

"We've got 45 employers on site, many of whom are going to be doing interviews," said Project Manager Kristy Jacobs. "Another 12 that are just accepting resumes, they weren't able to get a table but that are going to accept your resumes and over 300 jobs that are posted."

The employers on site at the job fair are hiring for a variety of positions.

"We've got everything from entry level right up to technical professional," said Jacobs. "We've got lots of driver positions, AZ, DZ. We've got health care positions, just able every sector is represented."

Job seekers who attend the job fair should come prepared.

"You're going to want to dress appropriately," said Jacobs. "Bring some copies of your resume with your because you will be handing them out to the different employers that you are wanting to apply to. Come prepared to spend a little bit of time, you're not just going to drop and dash. You might want to speak to [an] employer, so give yourself some time and a buffer to do that."
