CK gets $200k from OLG this quarter

The municipality of Chatham-Kent has been handed a pretty nice cheque.

The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation issued its second quarter non-tax gaming revenue payment of more than $200k to Chatham-Kent.

The payment of $216, 565 comes for hosting Gateway Casino Dresden from July to Sept. 2018. For the 2018-2019 fiscal year, CK has received almost $500,000 from the OLG.

“OLG provides direct support to communities across Ontario through payments to municipal partners and local charities, and generates more than $4 billion in economic activity," said MPP Monte McNaughton. That activity includes goods and services purchased from local businesses.

In the last 14 years, the municipality has received more than $11 million in gaming revenue.

Windsor also received its OLG second quarter payout for almost $3.5 million.
