Two arrests made during police check-up

A 25-year-old Chatham man and a 33-year-old Blenheim woman are in more trouble with the law after they were allegedly caught hanging out together.

The problem with that, according to Chatham-Kent police, is both of the accused had previously been ordered not to communicate with each other.

Officers said they found the pair together during a compliance check Monday night.

A man and a woman were both arrested and charged with failing to comply with their release conditions. The woman who was arrested was turned over to OPP after she was released from CKPS custody because she was wanted on other additional outstanding warrants.

Four arrests on outstanding warrants

Chatham-Kent police arrested four other Chatham residents on outstanding warrants Monday.

A 47-year-old Chatham man and an 18-year-old Chatham man were both arrested for failing to attend court, an 18-year-old Chatham woman was arrested on an outstanding warrant from Stratford police, and a 42-year-old Chatham man was arrested on outstanding warrants from OPP.

Suspended driver stopped near Kent Bridge

A 52-year-old Thamesville man is facing charges after Chatham-Kent police pulled over a vehicle on Longwoods Road Monday afternoon.

Officers said the man was suspended from driving for remedial purposes and unpaid fines.

He was charged with two counts of driving while under suspension and is scheduled to answer to those charges in court next month.

Shoplifting at Walmart in Chatham

Chatham-Kent police have arrested another suspect accused of shoplifting at the Walmart on St. Clair Street in Chatham.

Police said a 34-year-old Chatham woman was arrested Monday afternoon, charged with theft, and released with conditions and a future court date.

Drunk in public

A 37-year-old Chatham man spent the night in a holding cell after police received a call about a disturbance on Gray Street in Chatham Monday night.

Police said the man was unable to care for himself, so officers took him into custody, charged him with being intoxicated in a public place, and released him once he sobered up.

ATV stolen from barn

Chatham-Kent police are appealing to the public for tips as they work to track down an ATV that was taken from a barn on Langstaff Line.

Police said it was taken sometime late Sunday night or early Monday morning, adding that it is valued at $8,000.
