Police seeking suspect who fled from officers

Chatham-Kent police are appealing to the public for witnesses after someone who was banned from driving, allegedly sped away from a police cruiser in Blenheim Thursday evening.

Police said officers tried to stop a Gold four-door Chrysler car on Ridge Line near Front Line at around 6 p.m. Thursday, but the driver allegedly took off and got away.

Officers said they have identified the person responsible, but they haven't been able to track them down yet.

Break-in in Orford Township

Chatham-Kent police are investigating after someone broke into a barn on Talbot Trail and took off with some tools.

Officers said it happened sometime between 12 a.m. and 2 a.m. on Wednesday, October 10. Along with the tools, some oxygen and acetylene tanks were stolen.

Break and enter in Howard Township

Police are asking the public for tips as they work to solve a break-in at a residence on Botany Line.

Officers said sometime over the past three weeks, someone forced their way into a home and took some yard equipment that's valued at $500.

Break-in at storage facility in Chatham

Chatham-Kent police are working to recover about $100 worth of personal items, including some antiques, that were taken from a storage facility on Richmond Street.

Investigators said the items were taken sometime over the past three weeks.

Break-in east of Ridgetown

If you know anything about a break-in at a residence on Teetzel Line that took place Thursday evening, police would like to hear from you.

Officers said a suspect broke into a home there at 6:40 p.m. Thursday and tried to remove a dresser, but they were scared off by the homeowner.

Impaired driver pulled off the road in Chatham

Chatham-Kent OPP have pulled a 33-year-old Harwich woman off the road after she was allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol.

Police said they charged the woman after pulling over a vehicle on Bloomfield Road in Chatham at around 9:15 p.m. Thursday.

Officers suspected the driver had been drinking alcohol, so further tests were conducted at police headquarters.

A 33-year-old woman is now facing two impaired driving charges, two counts of resisting a peace officer, and one count of driving while disqualified.
