Advance polls open in CK; online voting still available

Advance polls are officially open in Chatham-Kent and voters can still vote online until Monday.

The advance polls opened Thursday and will run through Saturday at all six municipal centres. Those eligible can vote Thursday from noon to 7 p.m. and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.

As for Internet voting, it will still be closed at 10 p.m. on Monday. According to the municipality, 4,800 individuals have voted online so far.

A total of 9,388 voters submitted their ballot before election day in 2014. Over 7,000 of those votes were registered on the Internet, which was the first year online voting was available in the municipal election.

Anyone who misses out on the advance and internet voting can go to their designated polling station on election day, Monday, October 22.

For additional information on the election, voters can go to the municipal website or contact the municipality by phone.
