Closures posted for Thanksgiving holiday

A holiday set aside for giving thanks is one that comes with several closures throughout the community.

Municipal offices and most services will not be available on Thanksgiving Monday. Arenas, pools, museums, public libraries, and family service buildings will all be closed October 8.

CK Transit will not be operational Monday.

Garbage and recycling collection will be pushed back by one day.

Emergency services will be available for those who need it. Emergency rooms at the Chatham and Wallaceburg hospitals will also be open.

However, some services at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (CKHA) are not available Monday because of the Thanksgiving holiday.

Routine x-rays, electrocardiograms, and ultrasounds will only be available for emergency situations. The oncology/chemotherapy department and addictions program out-patient department will be closed Monday.

Elston Pharmacy, located at the Chatham hospital, will also be closed.
