Coat drive gets boost from Blenheim girl

Operation Cover Up got a big boost thanks to the hard work of a Blenheim teen.

Klare Rumble, 13, helped collect 111 winter coats in September.

"I organized a coat drive through my school, St. Anne's in Blenheim," says Rumble. "It's called Coats by Kids, where we collected coats for people in our area who don't have them."

Rumble said she organized the coat drive because she wants to make a difference.

"Well I've always wanted to help the world," said Rumble. "And I realized that there's more issues in our community, and if I want to help the world, why not start in my community."

Rumble said next year, she wants to expand the coat drive to all the schools in Blenheim.

Winter coats for Operation Cover Up can be dropped off at any of the Salvation Army thrift stores in Chatham-Kent, or at Jiffy Lube on Keil Dr. in Chatham.
