Over 40 employers looking to fill positions at CK job fair

Anyone looking for work in Chatham-Kent will want to mark October 23 on their calendar. Local businesses will hold a job fair to fill over 300 positions.

The second-annual CK Works Community Job Fair will be held on October 23 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the John D. Bradley Centre in Chatham.

The Chatham-Kent Workforce Planning Board announced Tuesday it has over 40 employers representing a variety of sectors registered for the free event. According to the board, positions range from general/entry level to specialized/experienced professional roles.

“Our historically low unemployment rates are putting job seekers in a pretty great position," project manager Kristy Jacobs said. "There are great jobs available in Chatham-Kent right now. Our employers are looking for strong candidates to round out their workforce, and if you are looking for a new job, or a change of roles, October 23 could be the day for you.”

Jacobs added job seekers are encouraged to register for the free event through the Eventbrite page where the complete list of employers and positions can be seen. Visitors to the site can also access a general job search, resumé tips, and reminders.
