Police briefs for Sunday, September 30, 2018

A woman's decision to drive when she wasn't allowed to do so has resulted in charges.

In July 2018, the woman was released from custody with conditions. One of her conditions was to obey a curfew between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.

Early Sunday morning, at 3:00 a.m., an officer initiated a traffic stop on Richmond Street at Keil Drive in Chatham. The woman was the driver of the vehicle and unable to provide a lawful reason for being out past her curfew.

As a result, the 31-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and charged with failing to comply. She was then transported to police headquarters and held for a bail hearing.
