Tools stolen in garage theft

Overnight on Thursday, unknown people forced their way into a Chatham garage and stole a variety of tools.

The Siskind Court theft has an estimated value of $800.

Walmart shoplifter arrested

A 30-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with theft under $5000 yesterday. He was also charged with being in possession of property obtained by a crime under $5000.

He has been released with a future court date of Oct. 4.

Domestic assault leads to arrest

Police responded to a domestic disturbance in Chatham yesterday. Investigation revealed that on Thursday, a male assaulted a female and paramedics had been there to provide medical treatment.

The 38-year-old Chatham man was arrested and is being held in custody until a bail hearing.

Intoxicated man arrested

A 29-year-old Chatham man was arrested on Pain Court Line for public intoxication.

Police determined he was unable to care for himself and taken to police headquarters until sober.

Single vehicle collision due to impaired driving

Early this morning, police responded to a single vehicle collision on Park Ave W. at Bloomfield Road. The driver failed to stop at the stop sign and left the roadway, coming to a stop on a residential front lawn.

Police suspected the 56-year-old was driving under the influence and took him to headquarters for breath tests. He has been charged with a blood alcohol concentration above the legal limit and will released with a future court date once sober.

Minor injuries were reported.
