The record for the world’s largest Caesar cocktail (or Bloody Mary cocktail) has been broken at the International Plowing Match in Pain Court.

Tomatoes were processed and lemons were squeezed throughout the day as celebrity chef Bob Blumer and his team prepared a drink that ended up measuring 580 litres.

Mike Marcotte, an adjudicator with Guinness World Records, was on hand to make sure it was official.

“In Guinness World Records guidelines, we need at least three ingredients: vodka, tomato juice, and Worcestershire sauce,” said Marcotte. “We are adding some additional things today including celery, clam juice, celery salt, some Tabasco sauce and some other ingredients.”

Any Guinness World Records attempt involving food or drink requires the substance to be fully consumed in order to set or break the record. IPM 2018 attendees received two glasses of the cocktail for a $5 donation.
