More Long Guns Stolen In CK

Chatham-Kent police are investigating another break-in where some long guns were stolen from a residence in the Dresden area.

Officers say sometime over the past week, someone forced their way into a home in Camden Township and took off with two rifles, two shotguns and a handgun.

Whoever took the guns also stole a 12-volt car battery, a Motomaster battery booster pack, and a red Honda 5000 generator.

You can find descriptions of the guns below:

- a Remington .308 rifle

- a Winchester .30-30 rifle

- a Stevens 410 shotgun

- an Ithaca shotgun

- a Colt .45 handgun

Anyone with information is asked to contact Constable Darcy Lunn at darcyl@chatham-kent.ca or 519-436-6600 ext. 85385.

Anonymous callers can also call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) and may be eligible for a cash reward.

In a separate case earlier this week, police reported that someone stole five long guns from a home in Dresden.

Police issued statement which said the key message they'd like you to get across is anyone with information about the gun thefts to call police or crime stoppers.

"Our priority is the safe return of the guns to ensure they don’t get into the hands of people who want to use them for illegal purposes," the statement said. "This is a community safety issue where we need citizens to help us locate the stolen guns."
