Bikefest Fundraiser In Chatham

Motorcyclists enthusiasts are taking over Tecumseh Park in downtown Chatham this weekend.

Bikefest CK, a fundraiser for Big Brothers Big Sisters Chatham-Kent kicks off Friday night and runs until Saturday night.

"Anybody that has an interest in bikes, or just wants to check out what's going on, it's not just for motorcycle enthusiasts," says volunteer Toni Martin. "There's a motorcycle showcase, there's vendors, there's food, there's music, there's a refreshment area."

Martin says you can even test ride some brand new Harley Davidson's on Saturday.

"For anyone that wants to check out some new 2019 motorcycles, Harley's going to be there with a bunch of demo bikes, so they can go an take some test rides too."

All the money raised goes to Big Brothers, Big Sisters, and stays in Chatham-Kent.

"The money that's made for this is what keeps the programs going in Chatham-Kent," says Martin. "It keeps being able to provide all the programs, the activities, and things for the children of Chatham-Kent. It supports the Big Brothers Big Sister in-school mentoring, that's what keeps our programs going and running."

There is also a police-escorted ride from Tilbury to Chatham Saturday morning. And Saturday afternoon, they will do the draw for a new Harley motorcycle, and the 50-50 draw, which could be worth up to $12,000.
