A Chatham man who allegedly skipped out on a scheduled court appearance earlier this summer is now accused of several more crimes.

Officers say they arrested the man early Wednesday morning after a brief foot chase near the railroad tracks just off McNaughton Ave. in Chatham. The man allegedly took off on foot after he spotted a police cruiser in that area.

Police say after they arrested him, they found some stolen jewelry and some hydromorphone on him.

Officers were later able to connect the jewelry they recovered to a break-in that took place at a residence on De Graeve Dr. in Chatham earlier in the day.
