A Chatham woman is in trouble with the law after police found drugs in her car.
Officers on general patrol stopped a vehicle on Ursuline Ave. in Chatham on Sunday at around 9pm. During the stop, the driver was found to be in possession of open alcohol inside the vehicle.
A search of the driver and the vehicle resulted in the seizure of a small amount of suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
A 32-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance. She was later released from custody with a future court date.
A Chatham man accused of stealing property from a house has been arrested.
Officers responded to a report of a suspicious man at a house under construction on Indian Creek Rd. W in Chatham on Sunday at around 8pm.
Upon arrival, officers found the man loading property into a trailer attached to a riding lawn mower.
Police determined through investigation that the residence had been broken into and the property belonged to the homeowners, including the lawnmower and trailer.
Police also found a set of keys in his possession that belonged to the vehicle of another victim on the same street.
A 34-year-old Chatham man has been arrested and charged with break and enter and two counts of possession of stolen property under $5,000. He was later released with a future court date.
Police are investigating after a vehicle was stolen in Chatham.
Sometime between Friday and Sunday, a parked vehicle was stolen from the parking lot of Via Rail on Queen St. in Chatham. The vehicle is described as a black 2010 Ford F150 and was last known to have the Ontario licence plates 9035YT.
