Dowler-Karn Giving Back

Dowler-Karn is celebrating 75 years in business by giving back to local charities.

"We're investing $75,000 into local projects through our Fueling Communities Giveaway," says Customer Service Representative Collin Palmer.

The contest is open to all charities and non-profits in Dowler-Karn's service area, which stretches from Windsor all the way to Kitchener.

"There's $500 bursaries, there's ten of those that are going to be given away in a random draw," says Palmer. "The grants are broken into two sizes, there's up to $2,000, and from $2,000 to $10,000. In order to qualify for those we want to see some community support."

The public can go to Dowler-Karn's website and "sponsor" the project they think deserve to receive one of the grants.

Palmer says it's been a real pleasure to talk to all the different groups that have applied.

"I know Chatham-Kent's a great place, but when you get to see all the different things that are going on and the heart that's put into all these groups, it's awesome. And when you talk to the people who benefit from those charities, they're so important," he says. "So get out there and make sure that you really put your effort behind these guys cause it's making a difference."
