Wallaceburg Fire Causes $30K In Damage

No injuries were reported, but fire officials are reporting some "significant" smoke damage after a fire broke out at a home in Wallaceburg early Thursday morning.

Fire crews say they were called to an address on Dufferin Ave. just west of Wallaceburg at around 3:30am.

Firefighters didn't see any smoke when they arrived, but once they got inside the building, it was very hot and smoky on the upper level.

Everyone who was inside the building managed to escape safely. The damages are estimated at $30,000.

Fire officials are reminding the public of the importance of having working smoke alarms on every level of the home.
