Heather Slater says tons of big shows are coming up during the 2018/2019 season. She says the season officially kicks off this fall with the return of Five Cork Productions' wine-themed musical Winesday September 26 through 28.

"We've got everything from the London Symphonia, which is the newest orchestra in Canada... we're very excited to welcome them to our stage in May," says Slater. "We also have a fantastic night of country acrobatics -- the Cirque Eloize and their show called Saloon comes to the Capitol on October 12 of this year."

Some of the other shows include Serena Ryder on October 15, The Ultimate Golden Girls Experience on October 28, and I Mother Earth and Finger Eleven on January 10.

Slater says the community is so supportive of the theatre.

"I think it's because we do offer such a wide range of programming. We get to see a little bit of every sort of demographic in Chatham-Kent. We also are really keen to hear what our audience would like us to program," she explains.

Slater says staff at the Chatham Capitol Theatre has grown since she became the new manager last fall. She says the theatre has a new marketing coordinator and a new front of house coordinator as well.

"We have a really busy team that's aiming to really grow the Capitol, increase the number of shows we do and the profile of the theatre in general," she says, "We really want the Chatham Capitol to be known across the country as one of the great performing arts centres."
