Court Working On Bail Application For Kourtny Audette

A Wallaceburg woman accused of murdering a Dover Township man is one step closer to potentially getting out on bail.

Kourtny Audette appeared by audio link in Chatham court Tuesday morning. She was supposed to appear by video, but the court was experiencing technical difficulties due to a power outage.

Audette is charged with first-degree murder in the death of Nick Laprise of Dover Township. He was found murdered at a Wallaceburg home in April.

A lawyer on behalf of Audette's counsel Laura Joy told the court that disclosure has now been received by the office.

An application for bail will be brought to Audette's next hearing to set a date for release.

Audette will appear next in court via video link on Tuesday, June 26 at 10:30am in room 103. She will be remanded in custody until then.
