Six Arrests After Drug Bust In Chatham

Chatham-Kent police say six people are facing charges in connection with a drug bust on Jeffrey St. in Chatham.

Police say members of the Chatham-Kent Police Intelligence Section and the Critical Incident Response Team made the arrests after executing a search warrant Wednesday night.

During their search, officers recovered an undisclosed quantity of hydromorphone, morphine, cocaine, crack cocaine, and methamphetamine. Police also seized digital scales, cell phones, a surveillance system, some drug-related equipment, and a stolen paint sprayer.

A 27-year-old man from Stoney Point, a 27-year-old man from Lighthouse Cove, a 37-year-old Chatham woman, and a 49-year-old man from Charing Cross are all charged with drug possession in connection with the case. They have all been released with conditions and a future court date.

Two of the other people who were arrested are being held in custody pending a bail hearing.

One of them is a 28-year-old man from Chatham who is charged with drug possession, breach of probation, and possession of property obtained by crime. The other person who is still in custody is a 46-year-old Chatham man -- he's facing four drug trafficking charges and one count of failing to comply with his release conditions.

No names have been released.
