Liberal Candidate Drops Out In Lambton-Kent-Middlesex

Ryan O'Hagan won't be representing the Ontario Liberal Party in southwestern Ontario after all.

He was set to officially launch his campaign Sunday night in Strathroy, but according to a post on his Facebook page, that was cancelled at the last minute.

"Unfortunately, due to personal issues entirely out of my control, I have chosen not to pursue the Liberal nomination at this time," says the post. "I want to sincerely assure everybody that this decision has nothing to do with the Liberal Party or any of their members. I wholeheartedly support the Liberal platform, what they stand for, and their goals of creating a more fair and equal Ontario for all."

With O'Hagan dropping out of the race, the Ontario Liberal Party currently does not have any declared candidates in Lambton-Kent-Middlesex and time is running short to find one. According to the Elections Ontario website, the deadline for candidate nominations is May 17 at 2pm.

There are still five candidates in the riding: Monte McNaughton (PC Party), Todd Case (Ontario NDP), Anthony Li (Green Party), Brian Everaert (Ontario Trillium Party), and Brand Greulich (Libertarian).
