A Tilbury couple that won a $26-million lottery prize in February last year is chipping in to help the hospitals in Chatham-Kent buy some new equipment.
Tricia and Mike Montminy presented a check worth $10,000 to the Foundation of the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance's $6.9-million CKHA Diagnostic Imaging Equipment Renewal Campaign equipment renewal campaign this week.
A release from the Foundation of the CKHA says the fundraiser has a personal connection to the family because Tricia and Mike's daughter Michelle continues to rely on diagnostic imaging equipment to diagnose some injuries after an accident several years ago.
She needed the equipment a few years later after suffering a concussion, too, and continues to rely on the equipment due to re-occurring symptoms.
The Foundation of the CKHA says the campaign still needs to raise $1-million by May 28 in order to reach its goal.
