CK Expo Back For Fifth Year

Comics, cosplay, guest speakers, and other special guests are lined up for Chatham-Kent's annual pop culture show.

CK Expo runs from 10am to 6pm on Saturday, April 28 at the John D. Bradley Convention Centre.

"We have a group coming called the Artemis Bridge Project, which allows you to sit on the bridge of a starship from the Star Trek universe and take part in battle maneuvers," says coordinator Rob Bellamy. "Plus we have the Batmobile coming with Brampton Batman. He has a 1989 Tim Burton's Batman car."

Bellamy says fans of the "Hilarious House of Frightenstein" won't want to miss it.

"The Wolfman's DJ desk is coming to CKX, right from Radio EECK," he says. "It's got the big logo across the front, it's going to have the interactive light show, just like in the TV show, and an exclusive video game."

Bellamy says they also have some guest speakers lined up.

"On our cosplay stage, we have a panel with four authors [because] we have four authors coming to the show. They're going to discuss how they got started -- publication as opposed to self-publication," says Bellamy. "Another great opportunity if you've wanted to get that book out that you've always talked about."

Bellamy says they will have a large variety of vendors, too.

"It's a very eclectic, varied group of different things," he says. "That's the one thing that we pride ourselves on, is to try and find different things that don't usually come to Chatham, and I think we've done a really good job this year."

Tickets are $15, and proceeds go to support Big Brothers, Big Sisters Chatham-Kent.
