Police Briefs – Monday, April 9, 2018

A Chatham woman has been charged after she allegedly stole a purse and started using a credit card.

The victim went to police headquarters on Friday to report that her purse had been stolen and that someone was using her VISA.

Police say the stolen credit card was used at a local convenience store to take out cash.

A 36-year-old suspect was identified and arrested. She’s charged with possession of stolen property and fraudulently using a credit card.


Chatham-Kent police are looking for information after windows in an alleyway were broken in Chatham.

Four windows in the alley on King St. W in Chatham were smashed sometime between 6pm on Friday April 6, and 12pm on Sunday, April 8.

Damage is estimated at $500. Anyone with information is asked to contact Chatham-Kent police or Crime Stoppers.
