Inspiring Music And Stories In Chatham

Chatham is hosting a "Healing and Hope" concert Saturday night.

Three brothers from the Congo who came to Canada as refugees years ago want to share their story and show their appreciation during an evening of music at St. Paul's Church on Park Ave. Saturday at 7pm.

The brothers say they were inspired by Canadian music stars Bryan Adams and Michelle Wright, who were introduced to them by World Vision.

Fabian Lwamba says being embraced by Canada was life-changing.

"We're just trying to reflect that generosity that is in this country that helps people like me who came and found a new home. Twenty years later our lives are completely changed and we want to display that in this great country," says Lwamba.

The brothers live in Oshawa but tour to deliver a message of healing and hope.

Tickets are $15 at the door.

Lwamba says they love living in Canada.

"We came from brokenness and here we are raising families and moving on with life. Standing up and doing our music, which is something we love to do," he says.

Lwamba says there's something for everybody.

"We have professional musicians joining us on stage. The music is going to be great and the vocals are going to be amazing. Beautiful harmonies and we have African jimbays and drums out there," Lwamba says.
