Four people from out of town have been charged after two separate thefts in Chatham.
Two men and a woman from Windsor were arrested Thursday afternoon after taking off in a vehicle from the Real Canadian Superstore on St. Clair St.
A 39-year-old Windsor man is charged with theft, a 40-year-old Windsor woman driving the vehicle is charged with possession of stolen property, and a 30-year-old Windsor man is charged with giving an officer a false name and failing to comply with court orders to stay home except for medical emergencies, while at work, or with his surety.
Officers recovered about $500 worth of stolen property from the vehicle.
Then Thursday night, a 33-year-old man from Glencoe was charged with theft after allegedly shoplifting at the Walmart on St. Clair St.
About $900 worth of stolen electronic items were returned to the store.
Man Charged with Assault
Several charges have been laid against a 44-year-old man after a fight in Chatham between two acquaintances.
Around 1:45am Thursday morning, officers responded to a disturbance between two men known to each other on Colborne St.
Officers found marijuana and crystal methamphetamine on the suspect when he was arrested.
He’s been charged with assault, uttering threats and two counts of drug possession.
Break and Enter in Chatham
Chatham-Kent police are looking for some break and enter suspects.
Someone broke the front window of a clothing store on King St. in Chatham early Thursday morning and stole a $200 coat.
