Police Find Crystal Meth On Assault Suspect

A 35-year-old man is charged with assault, mischief, and drug possession after police followed up on a domestic assault complaint in Wallaceburg.

Officers say they got the call on Wednesday after the man allegedly assaulted his girlfriend and damaged her apartment.

Police say the man fled the scene before they could arrive, but they picked him up a short time later. Investigators say when they were searching the man, they found some crystal methamphetamine.

He’s being held in custody pending a bail hearing.


Skipping Fingerprinting Appointments

Chatham-Kent police say they have caught up with a 28-year-old woman who made their wanted list after allegedly failing to attend two fingerprinting appointments.

Police say an officer on general patrol arrested her after spotting someone riding a bicycle on King St. in Chatham at around 5:30am Wednesday without a light on it.


One Driver Charged After Pileup On Raleigh St.

A 67-year-old Chatham woman is facing a charge under the Highway Traffic Act after a three-vehicle crash in Chatham Wednesday afternoon.

Police say the crash was on Raleigh St. near Richmond St.

Only minor injuries were reported — the damages are estimated at $15,000.

Theft in Wallaceburg

Police are looking for help identifying a theft suspect.

The theft happened Thursday morning at the ‘No Frills’ on Warwick Dr. in Wallaceburg.
