UPDATE: Two Late Night Fires In Chatham

Chatham-Kent police have taken over the investigations from fire officials after a pair of fires broke out in Chatham Wednesday night.

CK fire officials say the first call was at around 10:30pm at 200 Stanley Ave.  A second call came in just minutes later at around 10:45pm on Grand Ave. E.

Whitney Burke with CK Fire and Emergency Services says the call on Stanley Ave. was for a "small fire" that was extinguished by the property owner, but the fire on Grand Ave. E was a little more significant.

Burke says when crews from Stations 1 and 2 arrived at the scene, the building already had smoke coming out of the windows and flames were visible on the first floor. Firefighters were able to quickly knock down the fire and make sure everyone was cleared from the scene safely.

No injuries were reported at either scene and Chatham-Kent police have taken over the investigations.
