Thibeault Cashes In

The man involved in a Chatham lotto dispute has picked up his $3-million cheque from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) Prize Centre in Toronto.

Maurice Thibeault now lives in Leamington but was Denise Robertson's boyfriend in Chatham when the dispute started over the $6.1-million September 20 Lotto 6/49 Jackpot Prize.

The OLG says Thibeault picked up his cheque January 4.

The OLG completed its prize claim review of this lottery ticket and verified that the ticket in question was bought by Thibeault at Lucky 7 Variety on McNaughton Ave. in Chatham.

OLG will seek to pay the other half of the prize, which is in dispute by Robertson, into court on or about January 15 unless the parties resolve the matter privately or choose to take part in the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario’s lottery dispute arbitration process.
