Environment Canada Warns About Extended Cold Snap

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent.

The weather forecaster says we will be under a cold snap from late Thursday through Saturday because a bitterly cold northwesterly flow will develop over southern Ontario on Thursday.

The temperature is expected to drop to around -30 C in many places on Thursday night into Friday and again on Friday night into Saturday, which would meet the criteria for an extreme cold warning. However, there are currently no such warnings for Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent.

The cold snap will end by Sunday as a southwesterly flow develops with a normal high of -1 C.
