Blenheim Canadian Tire Owners Thankful For Support

The Blenheim Canadian Tire store is expected to remain closed for at least two more weeks after an early morning fire on "Red Thursday."

Store owners Stan and Sharon Pilecki say they'll need at least a couple of weeks for clean-up, but they're also thankful for the quick response from Chatham-Kent fire crews. They say thanks to the "fast work of all the local fire departments" and the sprinkler system inside the store, the damage was limited and there were no injuries reported.

While the store in Blenheim is closed, the Pileckis are asking shoppers to support other Canadian Tire stores in Chatham-Kent. They're also thanking the greater community in Blenheim for an "outpouring of support" following the blaze, which was ruled accidental.

There is still no word on an official damage estimate from the CK Fire Department. Investigators previously stated it was still under review "due to the complexities of smoke and water damage."
