A New Way To Pay At CKHA

Hospital stays at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (CKHA) just got simpler for patients and families, who can now pay their invoices through a new 1-800 number.

CKHA's Finance Department has recently started a 1-800 number to offer a convenient payment method to patients. By dialing 1-800-378-3641, patients can now pay fees that are not covered by OHIP or health benefit plans through a clear and easy-to-understand automated system.

"It's nice we are able to give our patients a new accessible payment option," says Accounts Receivable Clerk Marcia Soto. "The ease-of-use of the 1-800 payment system means one less stress to contend with, particularly for patients who live out of town."

When dialing the new number, patients must have a copy of their invoice and a credit card available. The 1-800 payment system accepts Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Visa Debit, and Mastercard Debit. Patients also have the option to receive a confirmation code by text message at the end of the payment process.

"I am pleased patients and their families are taking advantage of this new and easy option to pay hospital invoices," says Director of Finance Darlene Tetzlaff. "This new option is proving to be a success already with approximately twenty payments coming through the 1-800 number per day."

According to the news release, traditional invoice payment methods are still available at CKHA. Patients can still pay in person at both the Chatham and Sydenham Campuses, over the phone by calling 519-352-6400 ext. 6319, by mail, or online.

Patients who have questions about their invoices can call the Business Office at 519-380-2883.
