Santa Claus Parade Comes To Tilbury

Santa Claus will be making a special trip from the North Pole for a parade in Tilbury on Friday.

The Tilbury Santa Claus Parade will head along Queen St. starting at 7pm.

Tilbury BIA Executive Director and Event Planner Gloria Mailloux says there is tons of family-friendly activities at the parade.

"Of course, there's the excitement of everyone come out to participate in watching the parade. We have live music, the Authiers will be playing Christmas music and some traditional upbeat music, we have s'mores on the fire pit, and we have moose ears this year for purchase of $5 each, which are similar to the traditional Canadian beaver tail treat," says Mailloux.

Mailloux says there will also be a children's entertainer performing before the parade, as well as at the fire hall while kids wait to meet Santa Claus.

She says the fun also continues on Saturday with free horse and carriage rides, smores on fire pits, poutine for sale, and free face painting for kids from 11am to 3pm.

"I think it shows the support of the local merchants, as well as the residents who live here. It also shows community spirit. I believe that Tilbury has quite a bit to offer and it gives everyone a chance to get out and just start enjoying the festivities," she says.

Mailloux says the parade also benefits local businesses.

"It allows those who have not seen some of the newer stores or had a chance to perhaps get into them, because they work the same hours the stores do. It gives them an opportunity to get to know the merchants," says Mailloux.
