Remembrance Day 2017 Ceremonies in CK

Chatham-Kent residents will mark Remembrance Day with services and parades in several different communities this November.

Blenheim

Saturday, November 11, 2017

A parade will form up in front of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 185 at 10:30am and it will go to St. Marys Hall with a service taking place at the Blenheim Legion.

There will also be a dinner at the Blenheim Legion at 6pm.

Bothwell

Saturday, November 11, 2017

There will be a parade forming at 10:30am at the Bothwell Legion Br. 252 on George St. The procession will make its way to the cenotaph at 10:45am for a service. After that, there will be refreshments served at the Bothwell Legion before continuing on to Moraviantown at 12:30pm.

Chatham

Friday, November 10, 2017

There will be two services at Chatham-Kent Secondary School. The first will start at 9am and the second will start at 12pm.

Saturday, November 11, 2017

There will be two services in Chatham on Remembrance Day.

There will be a parade forming at the Legion Br. 642 on William St. at 10:30am, then it will proceed to the cenotaph for a service. After the service is over, there will be a light lunch served at the Legion Br. 642.

There will also be a parade and service at the John D. Bradley Convention Centre on Richmond St. starting at 9:30am. A parade will form up and then march off at 9:45am with a service to follow.

Dresden

Saturday, November 11, 2017

There will be a parade and a ceremony starting at 10:45am with the parade marching from the Dresden Legion Br. 113 to the cenotaph. A ceremony will follow and there will also be a dinner at the Legion at 6:30pm.

Erieau

Saturday, November 11, 2017 from 1:45pm to 2:45pm.

The ceremony will start with a parade gathering at Molly and OJ s Restaurant, heading east on Mariners Rd., then north on Nichols Ave. to the Veterans Memorial Garden.

After the wreath laying ceremony, the parade will head west on Ross Lane for 120m.

Highgate

There will be a wreath laying at the Legion Br. 335 at 11am.

Merlin

Saturday, November 11, 2017

There will be a parade starting at Legion Br. 465 at 2 Stanley St. at 10:30am.

The group will head west on Stanley St. and north on Erie St. to the Cenotaph at Kinsmen Park for a wreath service. The parade will then proceed south on Erie St. and east on Aberdeen St. to the Community Hall at 150 Aberdeen St. for a service. After that, the parade will proceed west on Aberdeen St., south on Erie St. and east on Stanley St. to Legion Br. 465.

Ridgetown

There will be a parade and service to follow starting at 9:30am at the Legion Br. 243.

Thamesville

Saturday, November 11, 2017

There will be a Remembrance Day service with a parade and a luncheon beginning at 10:30am at the Thamesville Legion Br. 367. Anyone participating is asked to meet at the Legion with a service set to take place at LifeBridge Pentecostal Church. A luncheon will follow that at 1pm at the Legion.

Tilbury

There will be a Remembrance Day service starting at 10:45am at the cenotaph in Tilbury.

Wallaceburg

Saturday, November 11, 2017

There will be a parade starting at W.D.S.S. on Lorne Ave. It will leave the high school at 10:30am and head south to Elgin St., then east to Lisgar St., then south to the cenotaph at the corner of Dufferin Ave. and Lisgar St. for a service.

Wheatley

Saturday, November 11, 2017

There will be a parade starting at 10:40am at the Legion Br. 324 with a service at the cenotaph. The service will start at 11am with a luncheon to follow at the legion.
