Chatham Man Allegedly Kicks Woman, Gets Arrested

Chatham-Kent police say a 21-year-old man who allegedly kicked a woman in the leg is facing drug charges now, too.

Police say officers on general patrol spotted the man walking down Queen St. in Chatham at around 9:30pm last night. While the pair was walking down the street, the man allegedly kicked the woman in the leg.

Officers say when they confronted the man, he resisted arrest and fought back against the officers while they were trying to handcuff him.

Police say they also found some drugs on the man when they were searching him.

A 21-year-old Chatham man is now charged with assault and drug possession.


Arrested For Staying Out Too Late

Chatham-Kent police say they have arrested a 40-year-old Walpole Island woman who was allegedly out past her curfew.

Police say the woman wasn’t supposed to go out between the hours of 11pm and 7am, but officers on general patrol allegedly spotted her riding a bicycle on Dufferin Ave. in Wallaceburg at around 2am Thursday.

Officers say they also found some hydromorphone and some marijuana on her when they searched her.

She was arrested, charged, and released with a future court date.
