A Chatham woman spent the night in police custody after officers received complaints about her.

Police say the woman was allegedly intoxicated and running around the perimeter of an apartment complex at around 10:45pm Monday.

Officers arrived at the scene and arrested her for being intoxicated in a common area. She was taken to police headquarters because officers believed she was unable to care for herself.

Warrant Lands Chatham Man Behind Bars

A Chatham man is behind bars after allegedly missing his court date.

Police say the 30-year-old was supposed to make a court appearance back in September, but he allegedly didn’t show up.

Offiers say they stopped the man at around 12:30am Tuesday after seeing him riding his bicycle on Richmond St. without a light.

Shortly after stopping him, police learned the man wanted on an outstanding warrant and took him into custody.
