CK Is Schinkel-y Positive

Schinkels' Legacy has donated 500 hams to the Chatham-Kent Salvation Army and the Outreach For Hunger food bank.

It's part of Positivity Day in CK activities until September 15.

Brenda LeClair, executive director of Outreach For Hunger, says families will get a treat with Thanksgiving just around the corner.

"We're very excited. It's beautiful meat and it's wonderful to be able to give something of that quality to our families and we're really grateful to Schinkels for what they're donating," says LeClair.

Schinkels has been donating to the Chatham-Kent Salvation Army and the Outreach For Hunger food bank for years.

LeClair thanks Chatham-Kent for all its support.

LeClair says protein is very important to families, especially around Thanksgiving.

"We really try to follow Canada's food guide when we're providing our families with the nutrition that they need and to receive protein of this quality is going to be a tremendous gift for our families," LeClair says.

LeClair says Thanksgiving should be a little more special this year.

"Some of it will go right away but we do like to save some of these things for a holiday. Thanksgiving is coming and it's going to be something really wonderful that we can offer our families to make the holidays more special for them," says LeClair.
