If you see cheap gasoline, buy it now.
That's the advice from senior petroleum analyst at GasBuddy.com Dan McTeague.
Gas Price Alert #Toronto #GTA #Hamilton #LdnOnt #Ottawa to?a 5 ct/l RISE @ ⛽️Friday followed by a 9 ct/l HIKE Saturday (to 132.9 cpl in GTA)
— Dan McTeague (@GasBuddyDan) August 31, 2017
The price hikes over the long weekend are being blamed on tropical storm Harvey and the effect that the flooding is having on refineries in the greater Houston-area.
McTeague says the hikes won't just hit the major city centres in Ontario, either.
All Ontario. See cheaper: buy it. Gasbar has to replace it with fuel that's 9 to 14 cpl more expensive. Let them pay for their "loss leader" https://t.co/oLnoIQieuh

As of 8am Friday, the cheapest gas in the Windsor-area was reported around 113.9 cpl, Chatham's cheapest was 111.9 cpl, and in London, it was 111.9 cpl.
If McTeague's predictions are correct, gas prices could eclipse 130 cpl over the weekend -- that could be as much as a $10 increase if you're filling up a 50L tank.
