White Knuckle Driving On The 401 Leads To Multiple Charges

Several drivers have been charged by Chatham-Kent OPP for various driving offences over the last few days.

On Saturday around 8:30am, a 30-year-old man from LaSalle was charged with speeding and careless driving after allegedly passing another vehicle in the emergency stopping area in the construction zone on Hwy. 401 near Merlin Rd.

A couple of hours later, a 49-year-old transport driver from Brampton was charged with speeding, failing to maintain a daily log and driving after 14 hours on duty in a day in the construction area on Hwy. 401 near Charing Cross Rd.

As well, on Saturday night, a 27-year-old woman from Mexico was charged with racing a vehicle in the same area after she was allegedly clocked doing 170 km/hr.

On Monday around 6:30am, a 37-year-old man from the Ridgetown area was also charged with racing on Kent Bridge Rd. after he was allegedly spotted doing 130 km/hr.

Both of their driver's licences have been suspended and their vehicles have been impounded for seven days.
