3 Rivers Roll In Wallaceburg

Get your bicycle ready. Community Living Wallaceburg is hosting its first ever 3 Rivers Roll bike party Wednesday night.

The 13 km ride will take about an hour and leaves from the Wallaceburg Library parking lot at 7pm.

"Just a casual bike ride around the Wallaceburg neighbourhoods," says Community and Fund Development Associate Alisha Allaer. "It's about inclusion, and welcoming everyone. It is a free event, we're asking for donations if you like."

Donations will go towards the purchase of a wheelchair bike.

Kevin Cavanagh, the president of Community Living Wallaceburg, came up with the 3 Rivers Roll.

"Cavanagh has been to the Slow Rolls in Detroit, and it was the same sort of thing. They started out with 20 bikers and now they're up to 5,000," says Allaer. "So Kevin just wanted to bring the same inclusive, fun event to Wallaceburg, and he thought it might be a good hit."

Allaer says it's a great way to see Wallaceburg.

"Lots of people live in Wallaceburg, but if they haven't been or don't know anyone in a certain neighbourhood, they may not have ever been there or noticed," she says. "So it is a really cool opportunity to see the great things that Wallaceburg has to offer. We drive over the walking bridge, we go though lots of different neighbourhoods."

Allaer says they will be holding another ride next month, on Wednesday, August 16. For more on the 3 River Roll, CLICK HERE.
