Police Briefs – Monday July 17, 2017
The OPP are looking for a 28-year-old man from Dawn-Euphemia after he allegedly drove through several farmer’s fields to get away from police north of Dresden.
Officers were investigating a pickup truck that was driving erratically and was in disrepair when they spotted it on Langbank Line, towing a flatbed trailer with a bulldozer on the back.
When police tried to stop the driver, he took off, driving through several fields.
The trailer and the bulldozer were recovered, but the driver and pickup were not found.
Police have issued a warrant for the arrest of Richard Chadwick McGuire on charges of driving while disqualified, dangerous operation of a vehicle, flight from police, and three counts of mischief.
The pickup truck was a red, 2000 Chevrolet Silverado with no driver’s door, a smashed rear window, and dents and scratches throughout.

Police are looking for suspects after a break and enter in Chatham.
Investigators say someone entered a detached garage through a window at 41 Lowe St. in Chatham around 3am on Sunday and took a black and orange leaf blower, a grey and black woman’s touring bicycle, and a black men’s touring bicycle with red tire rims.
The stolen items are worth around $800.

Chatham-Kent OPP busted several people over the weekend.
On Friday around 1pm, a female driver was stopped by police her for committing a traffic violation on Hyw. 401 near Scane Rd. As result, a 49-year-old Windsor woman has been charged with possession of unmarked cigarettes.
Then on Saturday just before 9am, a driver had their licence suspended for three days after allegedly speeding on the 401 near French Line, and registering an alert on the roadside alcohol breath test.
And on Saturday around 7pm, a man and woman from Windsor, both 31 years old, were charged with several offences including driving on the 401 near Kennesserie Rd with only a G-1 licence, speeding and possession of meth.

A 32-year-old Ridgetown man has been charged with assault.
Police say officers were called on Sunday night around 9:30pm for a couple arguing and learned that a man struck the woman’s leg.

Two local men have been arrested on outstanding warrants.
In June, the first man was arrested and charged for an alleged assault with a weapon and uttering threats.
He was released from custody but didn’t appear in court July 5.
The 34-year old Chatham man was arrested in Wallaceburg on Sunday night after 10pm.
The second man is a 27-year-old from Ridgetown and he was arrested on Sunday at 11am for attending a home in Shrewsbury that he was told to stay away from as a condition of his release in June.
The suspect was already charged with theft, possession of property obtained by a crime, assault and mischief.
