CK Home Sales Since January Break Record

Home sales in Chatham-Kent have broken a record.

The Chatham-Kent Association of Realtors says the 739 homes sold between January and June of this year is a record.

President Kristi Willder says homes sales across Chatham-Kent rose 4.2% over the first half of this year compared to the first six months of last year.

Willder reports June sales were also up 1.4% over June of 2016 and just six sales short of a record set ten years ago.

However, the local realtors association reports that new listings remain at an all time low.

The association says the average price of a home sold last month was nearly $207,000.

That’s up 27.5% from June of 2016.
