A search warrant has led to drug charges for a Chatham man and woman.

Chatham-Kent police say the Intelligence and Drug Enforcement Unit and the Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT) executed the search warrant around 6pm Thursday night on Grand Ave. E.

Officers seized methamphetamine, several clear baggies containing suspected cocaine residue, two digital scales with drug residue, surveillance equipment, multiple cell phones, drug paraphernalia, and a pellet gun.

The street value of the drugs recovered is around $300.

A 37-year-old woman and 36-year-old man are both charged with two counts of possession of a controled substance, while the man is also charged with two counts of failing to comply.

A Windsor woman has been charged after items from a theft last year in Chatham popped up at a pawn shop

CK police say $20,000 worth of electronics and jewellery were stolen from a home on English Line back in November. The homeowner was able to provide police with a detailed list of items.

Officers were then able to track down the woman, who allegedly traded some of the stolen items for money at a pawn shop on two separate occasions.

The 30-year-old was arrested Thursday and charged with two counts of possession of stolen property, and two counts of fraud.
