The Lower Thames Valley Conservation Authority is reporting lake shore flooding along Erie Shore Dr. in Chatham-Kent from Bisnett Line to Erieau Rd.
LTVCA says strong winds are driving waves onto the Lake Erie shoreline and spraying water up onto the land affecting about 20 homes, although no homes have been evacuated.
Erie Shore Dr. was closed to traffic Thursday afternoon, but has since been reopened.
Residents along the Lake Erie shoreline are being urged to prepare themselves because the authority says flooding could occur along other areas of the Lake Erie Shoreline.
LTVCA is asking people to avoid the shoreline.
Strong wind continues on Friday and the flood watch is in effect until Saturday.
