You can soon "Eat Fresh" at the hospital in Chatham.
A new Subway is being added to the hospital food court in the basement.
Owner Binoy Chaudhari says it should be open by late May or early June, and will be open from 7am to 9pm. He says the new sub shop was two or three years in the making.
"Finally everything worked out and we decided this was the right location. It's a lot of advantage for the community members, hospital staff and there is a school across from it," Chaudhari says.
Chaudhari owns a second Subway at the Downtown Chatham Centre.
He says the new location will give the hospital more food options.
"Their hours in the food cafeteria right now is 2pm and after 2pm they have no food availability. So, there will be great opportunity for us to serve all the patients, their guests, and our community inside the hospital and their staffs," says Chaudhari.
He says the restaurant is open to the general public after hospital hours.
"This location will be accessible from outside near ambulatory care, which community members or other guests who want to visit after hours to hospital will be able to go through that separate entrance and exit," Chaudhari says.
