Prince Philip Toning Down Public Engagements

Prince Philip is going to be taking a step back from public life.

In a public release, Buckingham Palace officials say Queen Elizabeth II's 95-year-old husband will not be carrying out as many public engagements starting this fall.

The release also says while the Duke of Edinburgh "will not be accepting new invitations for visits and engagements," he could still attend public events from time to time if he chooses to.

The move is not expected to affect The Queen's appearances at public events.

Her Majesty is still expected to attend "a full programme of official engagements."
